Notification of Participation in ISCC EU Certification

Down to Earth Holdings dba Clean Energy Biofuels collects and refines used cooking oil for downstream use as a feedstock in the production of biofuels, including renewable diesel. To ensure the integrity and sustainability of this material, Down to Earth Holdings participates in the International Sustainability and Carbon Certification (ISCC) EU scheme, which verifies that the used cooking oil qualifies as a genuine waste or residue. Through ISCC EU certification, the refined used cooking oil can be traded within the certified supply chain and used for the production of compliant biofuels.

The ISCC certification process requires Down to Earth Holdings to notify its suppliers, restaurants supplying used cooking oil (classified as points of origin), of its involvement in the EU certification scheme, along with providing them with a copy of the ISCC EU Self-Declaration (https://cleanenergybiofuels.com/self declaration.pdf).  All customers supplying used cooking oil to Down to Earth Holdings must comply with the requirements set forth in this Self-Declaration.

From now onwards, Down to Earth Holdings will collect your used cooking oil under the assumption that you meet the requirements set forth in the ISCC EU Self-Declaration, unless formally noted otherwise (see next paragraph).  You can accept the certification requirements by simply continuing to present your used cooking oil to Down to Earth Holdings.  No further action or response is needed. However, if the quantity of used cooking oil generated by your facility exceeds 5 metric tons (11,023 lbs) per month, please fill out the ISCC EU Self-Declaration form annually and email a copy to (iscc@cleanenergybiofuels.com).

If at any time you object to these requirements, or wish to opt out of the ISCC EU certification, please notify Down to Earth Holdings by email at (iscc@cleanenergybiofuels.com) and explain your objection. Without an objection within 14 days of receipt of this letter, the above-mentioned ISCC EU Self-Declaration applies and is incorporated into and made part of your agreement with Down to Earth Holdings for each collection of used cooking oil from your facility.
